This unusual and much needed book informs readers about the most common pollinators likely to be seen in both urban and rural areas, and the importance of these pollinators to the ecology of this arid region. The pollinators include birds (primarily hummingbirds), certain bats, butterflies, moths, bees, wasps, flies and beetles.

Treatment of each group provides an brief overview of the family, basic anatomy, and descriptions of representative species including identification, range, and conservation status, plus one or more excellent photos.

The book is really two complete books - one in English, the other in Spanish. It was produced in partnership by the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, the International Sonoran Desert Alliance, and The Bee Works. Spiral bound; 6 x 8-3/4".
